Sue I am sorry for your loss. Mark was a very special man. He had such a big heart. He would always be there to help anyone. Every time I would see him he would always make me laugh. Sending prayers

Sue I never met your husband but after reading his obit I wish I had. He sounds like a wonderful caring person with a great sense of humor . I am so sorry for your loss. Please try to remember all the wonderful times you shared together to help you get through this very difficult time.

Sue, Mark did a great thing with his own obituary. I don't think I ever read an obituary that I laughed at.. He left us with something you can be proud of. It was full of a life well lived. so sorry to hear of his passing. You will meet again. Sheila & Ernie Hooker

I worked in newspapers in Wayne county for over 20 years. It was always a pleasure to see Mark at various events he attended wearing one of his many hats serving the people of Wayne. His humor and upbeat attitude will be missed. My wife and I send our condolences and prayers to his family. We will continue to hold his memory our hearts.

Sorry to learn of this. Mark was truly amazing. Having owned business in Honesdale he was always kind, smiling and helpful. Writing his own obituary, in his own words, is who and what he was and will always be.

Sue: Sorry to hear about the passing of Mark, you beloved husband. He was truly one of a kind. He was special to our family as a representative of the bank at the fair. He stood up with two of our kids through the 4-H program. I remember son Ryan putting his arm around Mark at the Newfoundland fair. I am sure that he appreciated the support that Mark gave to him and the 4-H program. God has reclaimed the gift that He gave to you and so many others that knew him. I pray that you will travel the road of grievance with the help of God, your family and community. I trust that you will be able to release Mark back to his creator and that in doing so you will receive His eternal peace.

Mark was one-of-a-kind — a rare Democrat in NEPA being just one example — but in so many other ways in service to our community. His light shines through in his self-written obit. He will be especially missed by those of us in the Wayne County Democratic Committee. I wish he had seen the glorious inauguration of Pennsylvania’s native born #46 President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. Rest In Peace, Mark, No more campaigns!

Sue, I am so very sorry for your loss of Mark. I came to know Mark from him doing the live auctions for Dessin's major fundraiser each year. He always had a smile and was a funny and gracious person. The last time I saw Mark was at your home for the Holiday House Tour and he took extra time to speak with me about your home and living in an "old house on the hill." Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

As usual, Mark kept his sense of humor, as he did with most things. Dan and i send you our love and whatever you need. It was always nice running into both of you. You know how to get a hold of us if you need to.

My condolences to the family. When loosing a loved one it can be unbearable. That is why God has provided scriptures in the Bible to help ones cope with the loss. In the Bible book of Isaiah 25:8 Jehovah God promises soon to "swallow up death forever." He also promises to bring back those who have fallen asleep in death (Acts 24:15). In a little while longer this kind of pain will be a thing of the past (Revelations 21:4). May these scriptures bring you comfort in this difficult time (jw.org)
