William R. Seland, Jr., 75, of White Mills, died on Friday, March 24, 2023 at Regional Hospital of Scranton following an illness.

Born on December 6, 1947 in Orange, NJ, he was the son of the late William R. Sr. and Ruth E. (Kull) Seland. He was a graduate of Pompton Lake High School and later attended York College He began working at American Cyanamid in Wayne, NJ. After moving to Wayne County, Bill worked at the Wayne County Courthouse in domestic relations. He later worked at Kmart for 21 years where he loved the blue light specials. He retired from the Pennsylvania Liquor Store in Honesdale.

Bill was an active member of BVM Queen of Peace Parish in Hawley. He sang in the choir and served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years. He also enjoyed singing in the Northeast PA Barbershop. At home, he enjoyed reading, playing cards and was known as an excellent cook. Over the years, Bill enjoyed caring for his cats and dogs. Bill along with his family could always be depended on to help with any community function.

He is survived by a cousin and many friends.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lizbeth A. Seland.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 29th at Queen of Peace Church in Hawley at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Honesdale. Friends may visit Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale on Tuesday, 4 to 7.
