William C. Joseph, Sr., 61, of Honesdale, died on Monday, August 21, 2023 at his home with his family by his side. He is survived by his longtime companion, Nancy Ellis.

Born on April 30, 1962, in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Charles and Isabelle Evelyn (Cook) Joseph.  He served in the US Army and PA National Guard.  Bill worked for many years in construction. Recently he owned and operated his own business, Bill’s Seal-Coating. He also drove truck for his sons business, Joseph Blacktopping.

An outdoorsman, Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed driving around his neighborhood checking out the wildlife and stopping to check in on his neighbors. In his younger years, he enjoyed the time spent with friends playing softball. On Friday nights, he could be found at the race track watching the dirt car races. He and Nancy enjoyed spending time going for rides on their motorcycles.

Bill was a member of the A.B.A.T.E. Motorcycle Club, the Harley Davidson Rendezvous, and the Honesdale Fraternal Order of Eagles.

In addition to Nancy, Bill is survived by his son, Bill Joseph and fiancée, Kim Diehl of Honesdale; step-sons, Michael Ellis of NY and Christopher Ellis of Honesdale; step-daughters, Stephanie Jan-Stahl of Beach Lake and Sarah Ellis of Honesdale; his brother, Carl Thomas and wife Marilyn of Danville; sisters, Sandy Edsall and husband Eddie of Honesdale, Joan Howell and husband Bob of Prompton, Alice Slaier and husband William of Oakland, KY and Nancy Bose and husband Kevin of Honesale; 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Les Thomas.

Bill’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Allied Hospice for their care and compassion.

Friends may visit Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale on Friday, 4 to 7. As per his request, cremation will follow.
