On Wednesday, November 24, 2021, Vinnie Buesing (or Vinnie VO to his buddies) died at Wayne Memorial
Hospital in Honesdale, Pennsylvania at the age of 74.
Son of the late John (Freddie) and Margaret Buesing (nee Norton). Husband of Joanna for 39 years. Dear
father to Desiree Grecco (Jason) and Shawn Buesing (Jamie). Much loved grandfather to Jace and Harley
Grecco.
Vinnie was the middle of 5 children and the only boy. His two older sisters, Eileen Buesing (deceased) and
Mariann Buesing. He was a big brother to Peggy Sardell and Joanie Fedorow. He was born in New York and
raised on a dairy farm in Pleasant Mount, Pennsylvania. He attended and graduated from Forest City Regional
High School.
Vinnie soon enlisted in the Navy and served 4 years taking various courses to prepare himself for the future.
Upon discharge, he was hired by Western Union Telegraph Company where he met his future wife, Joanna
whom he wed in 1982. Vinnie finished his career as a communication electrician for local 3 FDNY. Upon
retirement. He returned home to Pennsylvania where he and Joanna purchased a house and settled down in
Beach Lake,
Vinnie loved to have fun and to laugh. He enjoyed coaching and traveling with Shawn’s Hockey team when
he was younger. He loved to shoot pool and play any game from cards to board games to Yahtzee with
Desiree. He enjoyed crossword puzzles which led to online daily Scrabble games with family and friends.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting and then preparing his fish or game using various recipes. He would then
share this food with family and friends. He so very much enjoyed a good meal.
We can’t forget the adventuresome side of Vinnie, always ready for an adrenaline rush. Amusement parks
with roller coasters, white water rafting, skydiving, and, of course, his hot cars (Corvettes) and Harley
Davidson, the faster, the better. He loved to take his long rides with his son in law Jason on their Harley’s in the
back roads of Pennsylvania. Vinnie chose to celebrate his 70th birthday by skydiving with a friend. One of his
last great adventures was taking his grandson, Jace, on his first fishing expedition along with the rest of his
family.
As Vinnie slowed down a bit, he took up doing custom painting of bike gas tanks and converted his Harley
into a three wheeler. He also built beautiful wooden tables with various inlays.
Vinnie was one of a kind. Tough, stubborn, but with a heart of gold. He will be dearly missed by his family,
friends and extended family. Each of you have your own memories of time spent with him. Hold them close and
he will never be forgotten.
A memorial service will take place in the Spring of 2022. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.
