Therese B. Hartung, 92, of Honesdale, died on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at her home. She is survived by her husband of 73 years, David W. Hartung. The couple married on September 21, 1947.

Born on February 28, 1928 in Haskell, NJ, she was the daughter and last surviving member of the Charles and Rose (Reth) Cormier family.

For many years, Therese worked as an operator for Bell Telephone in New Jersey. Following her retirement, she and David moved to the family farm in Dyberry Township. She was a former member of St. Mary’s Church in Pompton Lakes, NJ.

In her younger years, she enjoyed swimming and even arranged her work schedule so she was sure to spend some time by the pool daily. Therese also enjoyed sewing, reading and traveling with her husband. She also enjoyed snowmobiling.

Also surviving is her son David G. Hartung and wife Susan of Honesdale; her daughters Patricia Huber of Beach Lake and Sharon Barnett and husband John of Honesdale; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother Charles and Gerard Cormier and her sister Marie Tedeski.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 21st at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale from 10 to 12. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of her family
