Borchert, 82, of Beach Lake, died on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Wayne Woodlands Manor in Waymart. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Stephanie L. Anderson on June 6, 2010. Born in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Richard and Winefred (Harpel) Borchert. He was a US Marine Corp veteran. For 35 years, Ron was employed by Con Edison in New York City before retiring. An avid fisherman, he would boast that he held the record for catching the biggest cod in Mauntauk, NY. Ron also enjoyed feeding the wildlife at his home. He was also a longtime friend of Bill W.. Surviving are his daughters, Tracy Borchert of Honesdale and Stacy Ferraro and husband Joseph of Bethpage, NY; his son, Wayne Borchert of Beach Lake; his sisters, Margaret Winnegar of GA and Jill McCune and husband Arthur of Queens, NY. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Borchert and his sisters, Susan Borchert and Nancy Anzalone. A gravedside service will be held on Glen Cove Cemetery, Narrowsburg, NY on Thursday, April 4th at 1pm.
