Robert L. Stinnard, 92, of Honesdale, died on Friday, July 11, 2014 at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, the former Lois Adair Branning on June 19, 2014. The couple married on June 1, 1946. Born on December 10, 1921 in Varden, PA, he was the son of the late Leroy “Roy” and Henrietta “Etta” Hughey Stinnard. He began working on his family farm and later in construction. During that time he learned the skills of plumbing. For 40 years, he was employed at W.F. Garing and retired in 1986. A handyman, Bob built 2 homes for his family. During World War II, he was a plane spotter in the area. An outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, gardening and wildlife. Most of all he enjoyed being with his wife Adair, whether it be going for a walk or dancing. Surviving is his son Gary Stinnard of Honesdale; daughters JoAnn Warcholak and husband Paul of Waymart and Dorothy O’Neill and husband Daniel of Honesdale; his brother George Stinnard of Honesdale; grandchildren Scott Kramer, Shannon Stinnard, Erin Smith, Harry Garula, Megan, Timothy and Bryan O’Neill; 5 great grandchildrnen; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Raymond Stinnard and wife Gloria; his sister Hazel Ward and husband Russ; and his granddaughter Tabbitha M. Garula. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 16th at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale at 10 am. Interment will follow in Indian Orchard Cemetery. Friends may visit on Tuesday from 5 to 8. Memorial contributions can be made to the Dessin Animal Shelter, 138 Miller Dr. Honesdale, PA 18431
