In Loving Memory: Randolph (Randy) W. Koenig (1945–2023) Remembering the life of a remarkable man from Hawley , PA.
We fondly remember Randolph (Randy) W. Koenig, who passed away on December 23, 2023, at 78 years old. Born in New York City in July 1945, Randy eventually settled in Hawley, PA, after his honorable discharge from the Navy. With his skilled background as a machinist, he co-owned a Waste Management Company, Wayne-Pike Refuse. Later in life he pursued his passion of clock repair, for which he was renowned throughout the NE Pennsylvania area. Randy was also a devoted enthusiast of antique car restoration and an active member of the Wayne-Pike Region AACA.
Randy is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Gladys Koenig; his children, Lisa Koenig-Olenick, Erica Swendsen, and Mary Owens Shanley; his step-children, Jon Cooper and Robin Fitzgerald; his grandchildren; and his many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his late wife, Eleanor Koenig and his daughter Suzanne Mejia-Garcia.
Visitation hours will be held Wednesday, December 27th from 4 until 7pm at the Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main Street, Honesdale, PA. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10am at the same location. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the National Kidney Foundation, reflecting Randy’s desire to make a positive impact on his community.
Though Randy is no longer with us, his memory lives on through the many lives he touched. May we always cherish the time we had with him and honor his legacy.
