IN MEMORY OF PATRICK A CONTE

It is with great sadness that the family of Patrick A. Conte, 83, of Honesdale, PA, announce his passing on
January 28, 2023.
Born in Bryn Mawr, PA on November 27, 1939, Pat was the son of the late John and Nora Conte and
spent his childhood growing up in Berwyn, PA graduating from Catherine of Siena High School. He later
joined the United States Air Force and was honored as Airman of the Month. In addition to his parents,
he was preceded in death by his sister, Florence Hannum and Mary Shafer.
He was employed with AT&T for 35 years as Operations Manager. He was transferred to the AT&T
Satellite Communications Network in Hawley, PA in 1982 and moved to Honesdale, PA with his family.
Pat will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his devoted wife and best friend of 57 years,
Maria, and his children, son Brian (Gina), daughter Teresa (Terri) (Becky) and grandchildren, Dylan,
Emily, Ryan, Deryk, Garren and Luca, sister, Joanne Cugini (Dan) of Phoenixville, PA and many nieces and
nephews and dear friends and co-workers.
Pat was an amazing husband, father and grandfather whose smile lit up a room. He loved going to air
shows and being with family especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Honesdale Golf Club
for many years and loved his trip with his Dad and brothers-in-law to play golf in the Bahamas. He
enjoyed many trips to Florida in the winter and vacationing in Wildwood, NJ in September and spending
Christmases in California to be with his daughter, Terri and family and enjoying his twin grandsons,
Garren and Luca.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. at the Hessling Murray Funeral Home. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Magdalen Church at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at St. Mary’s
Cemetery on 191 S.
Memorial donations in memory of Pat may be made to the American Cancer Society, 100 4 th Street,
Suite 9, Honesdale, PA 18431, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN
28105 and Wayne Memorial Hospital, Attn: Hospice Dept., 602 Park Street, Honesdale, PA 18431.
A special thank you to the Doctors, Nurses, Aides and Staff at Residential Home Health and Wayne
Memorial Hospice for the excellent care and compassion given to Pat while a patient of theirs. They
went above and beyond to keep him comfortable and attended to his every need. May God Bless all of
you.
