Patricia M. McGinnis, 83, of Honesdale, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Wayne Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, T. Peter McGinnis in 1988.

 

She was born on July 23, 1940 in Kingston, PA and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Doris (Cease) Schmidt. After raising her family, Pat worked for many years as a paralegal for several local attorneys.

 

An avid golfer, she was a member of Honesdale Golf Club. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and recently, great grandmother.

 

Pat is survived by her children, Craig McGinnis and wife Daria, Kevin McGinnis and wife Cindy, Kimberly McGinnis-Williams and husband Todd and Jill Flickinger and husband Mark; grandchildren, Christine, Victoria, Donald, Joshua, Megan, Molly and Brynn; her great grandson, Aaron. She is also survived by her sisters, Kit Gauss and husband Jim and Fran Zegar and husband Gene. Additionally, she is survived by her nieces and nephews which whom she loved deeply.

 

She was preceded in death by her sister, Christine Walker.

 

Pat’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Bethany Village, Wayne Memorial Hospital and Wayne Memorial Hospice for their exceptional care.

 

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of her family. Arrangements by Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale.

 

Memorial contributions can be made to the Dessin Animal Shelter, 138 Miller Dr. Honesdale, PA 18431.
