Mildred Richter Loscig passed away on August 10, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late John A Loscig, to whom she was married for 63 years.
Mildred was born on October 28,1923 in Aldenville, PA, to the late Clara Goodline Tuomey and Rudolph Richter. She graduated from Honesdale schools.

Mildred was a seamstress for most of her career. She worked many years for the Katz Underwear Co, and then for the Waymart Knitting. After Mill retired, sometime in her 70’s, she was encouraged by a former employer to continue sewing in her home, and had professional sewing machines delivered to her living room. In her free time she would sew children’s shirts and sweaters. That continued into her 80’s. Not sure how she ever fully retired, without earning a paycheck. She surely loved what she did!

Times of enjoyment were when she and Jack would drive to her sister’s place in Cape Coral Fl, to escape the cold Wayne County winters.

Mildred is survived by her sister Doris Taylor, of East Norriton, PA; her children, Jerry Love of Newnan GA; Joy Love Stear of Honesdale; Jacqueline Roberts of Tucson AZ; Suzanne Douglas (David) of Honesdale; and Mary Ann Stolle of Honesdale. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is brother-in-law Harland Loscig and sister- in- law Darlene Szezorak and their spouses of Cherry Ridge, PA; several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her two beloved cats, Macie and Dacie.

Mildred was predeceased by her brother Rudolph L Richter; also first cousins Janet Goodline Acton, Jack Goodline, June Fitzsimmons Hayes, and Mary Ferret.
Mildred and her cousins grew up together during the depression and were all quite close in age. Being the oldest, Mildred always had the responsibility of looking out for the others, while her mother worked at the Katz Factory on 6th Street. It’s probably where her strong work ethic began.

Private services will be held at the convenience of her family. Arrangements by Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale.
