Margaret Rose Rank, lovingly known as Midge, Mom and Grammy, passed peacefully on Wednesday morning, December 15, 2021, at Regional Hospital of Scranton surrounded by her dear family. Born on September 8, 1939, in Jersey City, NJ and raised in North Arlington, NJ. Midge was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 40 years, Robert “Bob” Rank; her parents, Paul and Emily Feller; and her sisters Elizabeth “Betty Ann” Feller and Diane Feller.

 

Midge and Bob met during their time with North Arlington Veteran’s Drum and Bugle Corps and were married on December 13, 1958. Having moved from Perth Amboy, NJ in 1979, to the shores of Lake Wallenpaupack where she made her home for 42 years. Midge is survived by her four children and their spouses; Robert and Barbara Rank of Waldorf, MD; Roger and Robin Weeks of Hawley; Scott and Darlene Mosher of Hawley; and James and Sharon Adams of Honesdale; loving sisters, Ruth Graziadei of Whiting, NJ and Carol Lynn Dechert of Glen Burnie, MD; and life-long best friend of over 70 years, Angela Byrne of Indiana, PA. Additionally, Midge is survived by her ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, nieces, great nieces, great nephews and many beloved cousins.

 

Having worked in care homes for the elderly as well as routinely opening her own home and heart to anyone in need throughout her life, Midge is lovingly remembered for leading sing-a-longs with her seniors and hosting wonderful family meals where all were welcomed, and no one left hungry. Whether a big holiday meal or an impromptu visit, Midge was always ready to lovingly feed her guests and attentively visit with those lucky enough to know her kitchen table.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 22nd at St. John the Evangelist Church in Honesdale at 10 am.  Interment will follow in Queen of Peace Cemetery, Hawley.  Friends may visit on Tuesday, 4 to 7 at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.  It is kindly requested that you wear a mask.
