Obituaries » Madalene S. Pombriant (Barg) Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Madalene S. Pombriant, a resident at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, died on her 100th birthday, May 31, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Donald Pombriant. Born on May 31, 1916 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Anna Flatchmann Barg. Before retiring, Madalene was a bookkeeper at Union Carbide Corporation in New York. She is survived by her brother Ronald Barg of Cairo, NY and her sister Muriel Schmitt of Queens Village, NY. Relatives living locally is her niece Helen Cavanaugh of Hawley and great nephew Joseph Cavanaugh and wife Mary Ann of Honesdale. She was preceded in death by her brothers Carl and Frederick Barg; her sisters Helen Fusco, Wilhelmina Stellmann and an infant sister Muriel Barg at the age of 1. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 6th at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Honesdale at 10 am. Friends may visit Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale on Sunday, 2 to 4. All visitors are asked to use the 5th Street entrance.
