Lucille D. O'Neill (Beauregard)

Lucille Doris O’Neill, 88, of Honesdale, died on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Bethany Village. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. O’Neill on August 11, 2016. The couple married on October 16, 1948.

Born on May 22, 1932 in Burlington, VT, she was the daughter and last surviving member of the late Raymond and Armand (Alix) Beauregard family. She was raised in Portsmouth, NH where she would meet her future husband working at the Portsmouth Naval Base.

A housewife and mother, Lucille also worked at Katz Underwear Factory. After raising her family, she worked for the Wayne Highlands School District in the cafeteria in the middle school and high school.

In her younger years, she enjoyed ice skating, swimming and camping. She also enjoyed dancing with her husband and friends.

Lucille was a faithful member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Martin.

Surviving are her children Michael O’Neill and wife Janice of Litiz, PA, Kathleen O’Neill, Daniel O’Neill and wife Dorothy, Paul O’Neill and wife Donna, Thomas O’Neill and wife Ann, John O’Neill and wife Suzanne all of Honesdale; 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers John, Richard and Robert Beauregard and sisters Joan Howe, Loretta Goodreau, Lillian Duchaine, Grace Gintoth and Norma Parisi.

Due to the current health restrictions, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Honesdale. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.
