Lorraine Miller, 87, of Honesdale, PA passed away on February 11, 2023 surrounded by family at Wayne Memorial Hospital due to illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Katherine Reafler; sister, Doris Allworth; son, Randy and son-in-law, Brian Langan.

She is survived by Al Miller Sr. of Honesdale, PA, her loving husband of 67 years; son, Mike of Dover, DE; son, Al and his wife, Jill of Hawley, PA; daughter, Tammy Langan of Moscow, PA; daughter-in-law, Anne Miller of Honesdale, PA along with 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was born on December 2, 1935 to Henry and Katherine Reafler in Rowlands, PA.  She graduated from Hawley High School in 1954 where she participated in cheerleading.  After high school Lorraine played in a women’s softball league and went on to marry Al on July 14, 1956. She held numerous occupations while most notably being a full time mother to her an Al’s four children.

Her hobbies included a passion for country music, playing the keyboard and accordion, being a member of the Wallenpaupack Women’s bowling league and playing golf with her lady friends.  Perhaps her greatest talent was her role as family historian.  She was a living encyclopedia who could recall names, dates and locations with stunning accuracy.  She loved to share stories about the history of the family and those stories would always come with what became her catchphrase, “Isn’t that right, Allie?” To which he would always reply, “Yes, that’s right Lorraine.”

A graveside service will be held in the Spring of 2023 in Glen Dyberry Cemetery, Honesdale. Arrangements by Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale, PA.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society.
