Kevin T. O’Brien, 80, of Honesdale, died on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Milford Healthcare and Rehab Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally O’Brien on July 30, 2015. The couple married on May 18, 1991.

Born on January 28, 1944 in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late John P. O’Brien and Eleanor (Guibord) Brady. He was a US Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War. Kevin worked as a boilerman for many years and was a self-employed contractor. He retired from the Diocese of Newark where he worked at St. Joseph’s Church and School in New Milford, NJ.

Kevin was known by his family and friends as a caring person with a big heart that would do anything to help.

Surviving are his brothers, John O’Brien and wife Marie of Kissimmee, FL and Daniel Brady and wife Ann of Honesdale; step-sons, Robert Shuger of New York, NY, Jerry Weber and wife Desiree of Berwick and Tony Weber of Arizona; step-daughters, Kim Adamides of NY and husband Bobby and Gidget Siciliano and husband Arthur of NJ; several step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 27th at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Honesdale at 10 am. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Honesdale. Arrangements by Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale.
