Joyce L. Morgan (LaPoint)

Joyce L. Morgan, 82, of Honesdale, died on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest “Tom” Morgan on May 15, 2014. The couple married on May 17, 1958.

Born on September 12, 1938 in Honesdale, she was the daughter of the late Frederick John and Anna (VanDriesen) LaPoint. After graduating from Honesdale High School, she worked as an telephone operator. For many years, Joyce worked at Katz Underwear Factory before retiring from Castek’s Floral Shop. In her retirement, she enjoyed staying home and taking care of her grandchildren.

Joyce was a faithful member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale.

Surviving are her daughters, Kathleen Morgan, Suzanne O’Neill and husband John and Christine Morgan all of Honesdale; her sisters-in-law Mary Smith and husband Terry, Patricia Klinkiewicz and husband Paul and Rita Rouette and husband Roger; her grandchildren Brandon Morgan and wife Courtney and Carissa Morgan, Eric O’Neill and wife Whitney, Angela Dougherty and husband Brett and Michael and Steven Johnson; great grandchildren, Shawn and Mackenzi Giblin, Chloe, Ayradaiah, Rylan and Remington Morgan, Bennett and Everett Dougherty and Logan and Oliver O’Neill; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister Mary Ann Strzalka.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 4th at St. John the Evangelist Church in Honesdale at 10am. Cremation will follow and private interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Honesdale. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.
