To the family: I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Jim was a great man. He hired me in 1975 as the first librarian for Wayne Highlands Middle School. I thought of him not only as a wonderful mentor but also a very kind friend. Over the years I have inquired about him (most often thru Cindy Henry) and would send him a hello. I will always be grateful for the guidance he gave me my first few years as a librarian. I still smile when I remember him laughing when I asked for his approval to get a weekend job as a cocktail waitress in Scranton to earn extra money to help pay for my wedding. He said sure but added …. I think you will be the only librarian I know who also is a cocktail waitress. We shared many laughs in the two years I lived in Honesdale and I will remember his always. So sorry to hear this. A great man he was and one of my favorite teachers. A teacher in which I respected very much because he always showed the same respect back. Jim you will be missed. God bless. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends
