Herman A. Neugebauer, 79, Beach Lake, PA, passed away peacefully in his home on March 20, 2015 after a long illness. He was born on June 12, 1935 in Moscow, PA to the late Rudolph Neugebauer and Elizabeth Hafner Neugebauer.

Herman graduated from Narrowsburg High School in 1953. He was drafted into the Army in 1958, stationed in Berlin, Germany. During his work career he was employed at the Ford Plant, Goodman Cinder Block Company, Corners Milk Transportation and Herzog Trucking (21 years). After his retirement, he drove for Avery Transportation.

Herman grew up on a farm and always loved his busy farm life. His Black Angus cattle were like an extension of his family.

He loved to tell jokes and was never afraid to tell anyone how he “really” felt about anything! Like it or not, that was his way. Among his favorite memories were his annual trips to Arizona to visit his

daughter, Trisha. While there, he traveled throughout the state to be able to see as much of the old west history as possible. At home after his farming duties, he would always watch Fox News or Everybody Loves Raymond. He always talked about the old Country and Western music.

Another favorite was watching the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. A fun controversy since his son, Greg, loved the New York Yankees! Herman would watch the Yankees hoping to see them lose and shut it off if there was any chance of them winning!

He is survived by his sweetheart, Barbara Hector, his three children: Carleen Faatz and her fiancé Joe Longo of Newfoundland, PA; Greg Neugebauer and his wife Amy, Beach Lake, PA and Trisha Neugebauer, Peoria, Arizona, 2 grandchildren, Kristy Conklin and Beth Brown, Sisters, Freda Avery,Honesdale, PA, Joan Breidenstein, Honesdale, PA, Carol Kuntz, Kentucky as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Herman is preceded in death by his brother, Rudolph Neugebauer and his sister, Betty Carpenter.

Friends are invited to call on Monday, March 23rd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Hesslings Funeral Home,428 Main Street, Honesdale, PA.
