Gerald Morgan, 70, of Beach Lake, died on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at his home.

Born on March 1, 1946 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late John L. and Hazel Riefler Morgan. He was a longtime employee of the Wayne County Human Resource Center.

Jerry was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale. He enjoyed bowling, horseback riding, collecting records, listening to country music and collecting watches. Jerry will be remembered as a happy person who loved life who had a positive impact on all who knew him.

His family would life to thank his caregivers and the staff of the Wayne County Group Homes who cared for Gerry as if he were apart of their family.

Surviving are his sisters Rita Smith and husband Roger of AZ, Patricia Klinkewicz and husband Paul, Mary Smith and husband Terrance all of Honesdale; his sister-in-law Joyce Morgan of Honesdale; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Ernest “Thomas” Morgan and John Morgan; sisters Veronica Young, Elizabeth Kowalczyk and Jeanne Olver.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 6th at 10 am at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Honesdale. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.
