Gary Allen Lockwood, 90, of Lookout, died on Friday, January 6, 2023 with his daughter Sarah by his side at Gracedale Nursing Home where he has been residing. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Anna Mae Wise on December 19, 2004.

Born on June 8, 1932 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late James Frank and Alice E. (Lord) Lockwood. After graduating from Hancock High School, Gary became a truck driver and over his career traveled to every state in the continent except for Florida.

When not on the road, Gary continued to work, logging and taking care of his livestock. In earlier years, he helped at the family gas station and driving the milk truck. When at home, he looked forward to visits from his friends and pool parties. With his family, he enjoyed catching eels on the Delaware River and smoking them for his guests.

Surviving are his daughters, Sarah Branham of Wind Gap with whom he resided with for 14 years, Cathy Larocque of Honesdale and Laurie Lockwood of Pleasant Mount; his son, David Allen Lockwood of Lookout; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Gary James Lockwood, his infant daughter, his granddaughter, Kimberly Branham, his grandsons, Jason Klinkiewicz and James Franklin Lockwood and his son-in-law, Daniel Branham.

When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes your greatest gift.

Friends may visit Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale on Wednesday, 10 to 12. Interment will follow in Lookout Cemetery.
