Martin, 84, of Honesdale, died on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center in Honesdale. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Martin Sr. on October 5, 2008. The couple married on August 8, 1952. Born on February 8, 1933 in Elk Lake, she was the daughter of the late William and Anna Hessberger. A loving housewife and mother, Frieda loved to cook and sew for her grandkids. She also loved her cats Twinkle and Simba. Surviving is her son Robert D. Martin Jr. and daughter-in-law Karen of Honesdale; her sister Joan Duley of Honesdale; granddaughters and the love of her life Josilyn and Karli Martin. She was preceded in death by her son William in 1972 and her brother William Hessberger. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses at Wayne Memorial Hospital 3rd floor and the entire staff at Ellen Memorial Health Care center for their compassionate care. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 21st at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale at 10am. Interment will follow in Indian Orchard Cemetery, Honesdale.
