Francis Lewis Peck of Honesdale, died unexpectedly at home and in his sleep on 9-11-2023 from heart failure.  He was aged 89 years old and the family is deeply saddened by his sudden death.  Frank was born on February 26th, 1934 and attended Narrowsburg Central School.  He was a Navy sailor stationed on a destroyer during the Korean conflict and lived in Honesdale for most of his life.  Frank was a pressman at Moore Business forms for 25 years.  His two children preceded him in death, Terry and Erica Peck.  He has two biological grandsons, Gary and Deaver Swartz, who shared his love for hunting, fishing and trapping, which brought him so much joy.  Frank was married to Jean Crockenberg for 45 years until her death on August 31st, 2021.

Frank truly loved life and lived it to the fullest.  Everyone who knew Frank respected his talent at hunting and trapping.  He was a talented wood carver and after his retirement, he devoted himself to full time gardening.  A genius green thumb, Frank would start his plants by seed in his basement and eventually culminate by selling his vegetable from his home.  Frank would share his prize winning, potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, onions and corn with family and friends.

He and his wife, Jean, would be able to spend their winters in Daytona Florida just from his profits from the garden.  While in Florida, Frank perfected gathering Sand Fleas (they look like small crabs) as bait and used them to catch all kinds of ocean fish including Pompano, Whiting, Sheepshead and small sharks.  From the Flagler Beach Fishing Pier, he would catch, clean, package, freeze, and eventually transport his fishing abundance back to Pennsylvania to share with his friends and family.

Along with his grandsons and their families, Frank is also survived by his 3 stepchildren and their families.  Bob and Kay Bates, Mike Bates and Kate Scheer.  We will miss him more than words can say.

The family will celebrate Frank’s life with a private service at a later date.
