Knaz, 87, of Honesdale, died on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Knaz on July 21, 1993. Born on February 18, 1927 in Troy, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Esther Lay Nash. She received her teaching degree from Mansfield University and a masters degree from State University of New York. She began her teaching career at J.J. Koehler School in Honesdale teaching English and later at Narrowsburg School. For twenty three years, she taught Spanish at Wallenpaupack before retiring. She loved speaking different languages and continued to teach children following her retirement. A devout Christian, she was a member at the Tabernacle Bible Church in Honesdale. She enjoyed knitting, bird watching and her flower gardens. Surviving is her son Joe Knaz of Honesdale and her nephew Paul Lange of Winchester, VA. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 25th at Glen Dyberry Cemetery, Honesdale at 11am.
