Dorothy L. (Brady) Ridgeway, 93, of Seelyville, died on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger W. Ridgeway on March 25, 2008.  The couple married on March 17, 1951.

Born on April 16, 1929 in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Leonard Brady and Bertha Laszig Ordnung.  She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Robert H. Ordnung.  Following high school, Dottie received her teaching degree from East Stroudsburg State Teaching College.  For almost thirty years, she was a teacher before retiring from Wayne Highlands School District.

Dottie was an active member of the Seelyville community where she taught Sunday School at Seelyville Union Chapel and was a member of the Seelyville Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.  She was a faithful member of Grace Episcopal Church in Honesdale.

She enjoyed reading, traveling and fishing.  Dottie will be remembered for her strong Christian faith, her love for her family and her witty sense of humor.

Surviving are her daughters, Carol S. Strunk and husband Albert of Clermont, FL and Ellen Cory and husband Michael of Seelyville; her sister, Judy Romich and husband John of Honesdale; her grandchildren, Philip Ridgeway and wife Nancy, Tiffany Korb and companion, Rick White, Joshua Korb and companion, Brandi Gregory; great grandchildren, Mason, Brayden, Liam, Riley, Quinn, Kamden, Chloe, Mackenzye and Levi; many nieces and nephews.  Also surviving is her extended family, Zoe Howell and husband Alan, Gage and Silas, David Cory and Lauren Ballard and husband Dalton.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sally Jean Ridgeway; her brother, Clark Ordnung and wife, Margery.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Sacred Heart Hospice, Dr. Peterson and his staff, Theresa Diehl and Fr. Edward Erb and his wife, Sue Erb.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 8th at Grace Episcopal Church in Honesdale at 11 am.  Cremation will follow and interment will be private in Bethany Cemetery.  Friends may visit Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale on Thursday, 4 to 7.
