Doris M. Birmingham, 92, of Honesdale, died on March 15, 2022 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Birmingham on March 28, 2015.  The couple married on November 4, 1950.

 

Born on August 15, 1929 in Cherry Ridge at the family home, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna (Tuleya) Crockenberg. She was a graduate of Honesdale Catholic High School and Wayne Commercial School.  A loving housewife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Doris also worked as a bookkeeper in several local businesses over the years.

 

She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale attending St. Mary Magdalen Church.  She enjoyed caring for her flower gardens and working on crossword puzzles.

 

Surviving are her children, Gary Birmingham and wife Ranae of Honesdale, Gail Booths and husband James of Lake Ariel, Glen Birmingham and wife Mary of Ocean View, DE and Greg Birmingham of Honesdale; her sisters, Jane Thomas of Cherry Ridge and Ann Monaghan of Bethany; her grandchildren, Matthew, Michael and wife Tracy, Adam and Anna Birmingham, Brian Cottell and wife Sheri, and Jamie Cottell and wife Laura; great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Brooklynn, Willow, Alexis, Kali, Olivia and Evan Cottell, Demi and Davy Birmingham; many nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her sister Irene Brill and her infant brother, Joseph George Crockenberg.

 

A Private Mass of Christian Burial was held at the convenience of her family.  Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.
