Hazen Funeral Home Hessling Funeral Home Share your Memorial with Family & Friends David Leroy Hazen, 61, formerly of Hawley, died on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center. He died peacefully, surrounded by his family. Born on July 4, 1961 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late George and Ienza (Cole) Hazen. David drove truck for several cement companies and other trucking companies in the area before becoming ill. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, and being with his family. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his sons, Jesse Hazen and wife Arnell of Hawley and David Hazen and fiance Jackie Burrows of Uniondale; his step-daughter, Courtney Short and boyfriend Jeremy Smith of Honesdale; his brother John Hazen; sisters, Mary Hazen, Jan Day and Joyce Higgins. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jesse Jr., Kaidynce, Tyler, Joseph and Savannah Hazen and Dennis Smith. Also several nieces, nephews and friends. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of his family.
