Daniel William Carrier, 63, of Beach Lake, died on Sunday, June 19, 2016. Born on November 9, 1952 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph K. And Martha L. (Hammerschmitt) Carrier and beloved husband of the late Patricia A. (Monahan) Carrier.

 

Daniel was an Industrial Arts teacher at Wayne Highlands Middle School for 32 years and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Honesdale. He was an avid gardener, outdoorsman, and conservationist. He enjoyed woodworking, bird watching, completing crossword puzzles, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a loving father, brother, and grandfather.

 

Daniel is survived by his sons, Technical Sgt. USAF (Ret.) Ian Carrier and USMC Chief Warrant Officer William Carrier, and daughters, Dr. Allison Carrier, Catherine Antonucci, Linda Jones, Barbara Antonucci, and Christine Goda. Also surviving are his brothers, Dr. Joseph Carrier, Frederick Carrier, and Richard Carrier, as well as his 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He also loved his dogs, Echo and Sam.

 

A visitation for friends will be held on Saturday, June 25th at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale from 1 to 3pm. A church service will be held on Sunday, June 26th at the First Presbyterian Church, 201 10th St. Honesdale at 1:30pm. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Honesdale. Friends are welcome to attend the service.

 

Memorial contributions can be made to the Dessin Animal Shelter, 138 Miller Dr. Honesdale, PA 18431.
