Daniel Kieth Southerton, age 60, a lifelong resident of Honesdale, Pennsylvania passed away unexpectedly on February 5th, 2015 in his home on Brook Road. He was born in Honesdale on November 15th, 1954, the son of late George and Evelyn Larsen Southerton. He was a graduate of Honesdale High School Class of 1972. Dan owned and operated a successful air-conditioning and refrigeration business, serving many restaurants and camps throughout Wayne and Pike Counties since 1979. He was an avid outdoorsman, actively bow, rifle, and shotgun hunting each season on his property in Pennsylvania, as well as in New York State. He was an honest man and dearly loved by his family and friends. Dan is survived by his sons; James F. Southerton of Edgewater, MD, Timothy G. Southerton of Waco, TX, and their mother Laurie E. Southerton of Edgewater, MD; a sister Diana Rudloff and husband John Kleinschmidt of Pennsburg, PA; a brother Don Southerton, and wife Anna of Goldin, CO; an Aunt Florence and Uncle Bernard Southerton of Honesdale, PA; companion Martha Shermanski of Honesdale, PA; nephews Robert Rudloff and wife Lora, Byron Southerton; a niece Kathryn Southerton. A Funeral Blessing service will be held at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale on Wednesday, February 11 at 10 am. Friends may visit on Tuesday, February 10 from 4-7pm and on Wednesday, 9 to service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 712 S. Keyser Ave., Taylor, PA 18517.
