Daniel Anthony Meszler, 52, of White Mills, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at his home.

Born on June 9, 1963 in Honesdale, he is the son of Gerda Gebel Meszler with whom he resided and the late Lawrence F. Meszler Jr.. He was employed at Cricket Hill Golf Club where he was the cook. He loved cooking and prior to working at Cricket Hill, he worked in several other area restaurants. Prior to cooking, he was employed at Chroma Tube in White Mills and later was tree cutter at JAFLO.

Dan’s passion was cooking and enjoyed making meals for family and friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his brothers watching the races. An outdoorsman, Dan enjoyed hunting and taking care of work around the house.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brothers, Thomas Meszler and wife Peggy of Hawley, Michael Meszler and companion Margie Rickard of Honesdale, and Richard Meszler of White Mills; sisters Christa Strackbein and husband Jerry of Lake Ariel and Debra Meszler of White Mills. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews Samantha, Christopher and Brandon Meszler and Kelly and Matthew Strackbein; a great niece Isabella Hadden and great nephew Caden Hadden; several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his son Dylan Meszler in 2003.

A blessing service will be held at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale on Wednesday, May 4th at 7pm. Friends may visit on Wednesday, 4 to 7. All visitors are asked to use the 5th St. entrance. As per his request, cremation will follow.
