Christopher Michael Hnatko, 38, of Hickory, NC and formerly of Pleasant Mount, died unexpectedly on Monday, December 7, 2020.

Born on September 4, 1982 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Robert A. Hnatko.  Chris attended Forest City High School before moving to North Carolina. Chris was an extraordinary friend to many and was always the first to offer a helping hand to anyone in need.  He was devoted to his grandmother and he loved his family. Chris created a wonderful life in North Carolina and was proud of his southern “family”.  He enjoyed spending time with his friends, members of the car club and his beloved dog, Winston. Chris worked hard and held jobs in construction, culinary arts and antiques. Chris had a great passion and talent for cooking.  He also enjoyed fast cars and motorcycles. His passing leaves a void in the lives of all he touched.

Chris is survived by his sisters Penny Riley (fiancé John Pringle) and Lori Larnerd (fiancé Chrisptopher Brown) both of Scranton; his grandmother Margaret Hnatko of Pleasant Mount; his uncles, John Hnatko of Carbondale; David Hnatko and wife Renee of Honesdale; Richard Hnatko of Starucca, his aunt Margaret Ennis and husband Kevin of Pleasant Mount; his niece, Riley; and nephews Robert, James and Kayden; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his uncles William and Thomas Hnatko and niece, Natasha Sanchez.
