O’Connell, 37, of Honesdale, died on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. Born on July 17, 1983 in Carbondale, he is the son of Chester M. O’Connell and wife Bernadette of Waymart and Janice Breza Smoke and husband David of Honesdale. He was a graduate of Honesdale High School, class of 2001. Chester was currently employed at Prompton Tool in Honesdale. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and recently took up kayaking. Most of all he enjoyed being a father and loved being with his children. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Christian, Nicholas and Isabella all at home; his former wife and friend, Nicole O’Connell of Honesdale; step-siblings, Kimberly Warring, Martin Nellis and Marc Gilbert. He was preceded in death by his sister Stacie O’Connell. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 21st in Canaan Corners Cemetery, Waymart at 11 am.
