Catherine J. Kelly, 70, of Honesdale, died on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at her home with her family by her side. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Edward J. Kelly.

Born on January 11, 1952 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Katherine (Arnau) Came. Ed and Catherine married February 8, 1975 raised their family in Queens, NY until 1991 when they moved to Honesdale. After moving to Honesdale, she was employed at Walmart for 16 years before retiring.

In her younger years, Cathy Jo enjoyed bowling. She loved animals and took in many over the years to care for them. She also enjoyed catching up with friends and family on the phone, playing the lottery and playing games online. Most of all, Cathy Jo loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Paul Kelly and wife Cassandra of Titusville, FL; her daughter Sharon Smith and husband Mark of Beach Lake; grandchildren, Nykholas Quinones, Kristofer and Emilya Kelly, Marissa, Britney, Sean and Zachary Smith; lifelong friends, Ann Rumley and Barbara Kuezek.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Linda Came, Patricia Mondo and Cyd (Rita) Lazinsky.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 2nd at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale at 4 pm. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, 2 until the time of service.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
