Betty A. Kizer (Jacobs)

Betty Ann Kizer, 84, of Beach Lake, died on April 27, 2021 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Kizer on November 2, 2003. The couple married on August 6, 1955.

Born on September 4, 1936 in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Florence May (Allen) Jacobs.

Before retiring, Betty worked at K-Mart in Honesdale where she was a clerk. She was a member of the former St. Joseph’s Church in White Mills and currently a member at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale attending St. Bernard’s Church in Beach Lake. Betty enjoyed gardening and reading.

Surviving are her sons, Joseph W. Kizer and wife Andrea of Salisbury, NC and David Kizer and wife Rene of Beach Lake; her daughter, Darlene Yedinak of Hamlin; her sister, Louise Jacobs of Rochester, NY; grandchildren, Krista, Katie, Sara, David Kizer and John and Cody Yedinak; a great granddaughter Ella Grace Yedinak; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Jacobs and sister, Jane Rebock.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 3rd at St. John the Evangelist Church in Honesdale at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. All attending are required to wear a mask. A private viewing will be held at the convenience of her family. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.
