Bethann M. Smith, 47, formerly of Honesdale, PA passed away unexpectedly following a motorcycle accident on September 25, 2016. Born in Buckhannon, West Virginia on March 2, 1969, she was the daughter of William (Raymond) and Joyce M. Spittel.
Bethann will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, aunt and fiance who was very proud of her son and his many accomplishments. She was kind hearted and social with a bright smile and a positive outlook on life. Bethann was also noted as a dedicated worker by her previous employers and coworkers. In her spare time Bethann enjoyed spending time with her family, being outdoors and collecting Precious Moments figurines.
In addition to her mother Joyce Spittel, Bethann is survived by her son Dakota Smith and his girlfriend Nicole Bennett, her fiance Joe Roy, along with her siblings; Connie Hansen, Steven Spittel, Michael Spittel, and Mary Swendsen, several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. All of of which she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her father William R. Spittel and brother Douglas S. Spittel.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 7th at the Hessling Funeral Home Inc. at 428 Main St. in Honesdale. Visiting hours will be from 5-7 pm, followed by service that will begin at 7 pm.
In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution can be made to “Bethann Smith Memorial Scholarship” at First National Community Bank, 1001 Main Street, Honesdale Pa. 18431
