Augusta (Gussie) Naring Telesco Ostrow of Honesdale, PA passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 15, 2016.

Raised in Cold Spring, PA she was the daughter of the late Gustav and Anna Naring.  Augusta spent many years living in Stamford, CT before retiring and returning to her hometown of Honesdale.  She had a deep love for all animals throughout her entire life, taking in many strays (even a rooster!) and pets that were left behind from friends who had passed away.  Her family, friends and pets brought her much joy.  Gussie also enjoyed her church and looked forward to the widow’s luncheon each month and seeing all of her friends there.  A cup of tea, along with a dessert always made everything right again.  She was warm, loving and always had a smile on her face and was dearly loved by all who knew her.

Augusta is survived by her sister, Doris Heinlein of Ridgefield, CT; brother, Gustave Naring and his wife Pauline of Honesdale, PA and three of the four nieces she raised as her own children, Arlene Montagnino, Barbara Pustari and Nina Lobozza and predeceased by her niece, Sueleen Molgano.   She is lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Augusta was also predeceased by her first husband of 41 years, Dominick Telesco; second husband of 5 years, Dick Ostrow; brother, Herman Naring, of Norwalk, CT and sister, Anna Suchocki of Stamford, CT.

Funeral services will be held at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale on Saturday, July 23rd at 11am.  Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, 10 until the time of service.
