Alice Mary Varga, 86, of Tyler Hill and formerly of Carteret, NJ, died on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 following an automobile accident.  She is survived by her husband, Elias Joseph Varga.  The couple have been married for 67 years.
 
Born on November 5, 1937 in Elizabeth, NJ, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Donavan) Bensulock.  
 
For over 20 years, Alice worked in reservations for Eastern Airlines before retiring.  Following her retirement, she and Elias settled in Tyler Hill.  Before moving to PA, she was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and currently a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale.  She was a member of the Red Hat Society.   In her retirement Alice enjoyed volunteering at the local library and hospital.
 
She enjoyed reading and was a big fan of Harry Potter.  She loved her cats and her late dog, Trooper.  
 
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, David Varga and wife Clare of Hancock, NH and Barry Varga of Branchville, NJ; her grandchildren, Jake Varga and Evan Ainsworth.
 
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill and John D. Bensulock; her grandchildren, Ryan and Lindsay Varga.
 
Friends may visit Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale, PA on Wednesday, December 20th from 12 to 1:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 416 Church St. Honesdale, PA on Wednesday, December 20th at 2 PM. A second visitation will be held at Maguire-Scala Memorial Home, Inc., 124 High St Hackettstown, NJ on Thursday, December 21st from 6 to 8 PM.  Entombment will at The Union Cemetery in Hackettstown, NJ on Friday December 22nd at 11 AM.
