Lee Carl Krause, Esquire, 74, of Honesdale, PA, passed away on December 17, 2022, at home following an illness. Lee is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janette (Possemato) Krause. Born in Carbondale, PA, Lee was the son of the late Carolyn Sutton Wilson and Lee Calvin Krause. Lee was a graduate of Deposit Central High School, Cornell University and Syracuse Law School. After passing the PA Bar Exam in 1973, he became an Attorney with the law offices of Howell & Howell. Soon thereafter, he became a partner of the firm which then became Howell, Howell & Krause, until his retirement. Lee also respectively served as Solicitor for Wayne County, Wayne County Office of Human Services, and the Wayne Highlands School District for nearly 40 years. He formerly served as Solicitor for Texas Township. Over the years, Lee also served as Solicitor for Western Wayne School District, Forest City Regional School District, Waymart Borough, Berlin, Damascus and Manchester Townships. He was a current member of the Wayne County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He served as Past President of the Wayne County Bar Association as well as the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He also served as Past President of the Honesdale Area Jaycees. Lee was a member of the Woodworker’s Group, The Shriners, the Honesdale Lodge, Bucks Cove Rod & Gun Club and The Honesdale Golf Club. He was member of the White Mills Methodist Church. Lee was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time, hunting and especially fishing with his family. He enjoyed spending time at his home in sunny Florida. He was a lifelong New York Giants fan. Also surviving are a son, Lee S. Krause and wife, Bonnie, Honesdale, PA; and a daughter, Tara E. (Krause) Titus and husband, Brian, Honesdale, PA; three grandchildren, Tristan, Benjamin and Lily Krause, Honesdale, PA. Visitation will take place at Hessling Murray Funeral Home, Main Street, Honesdale, PA, on Tuesday, In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Lung Association. |
