Jean Marie Sporer, 80, of Honesdale, died on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Wayne Woodlands Manor. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Paul Sporer. The couple married on August 16, 1969. Born on November 21, 1942 in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Alice (Wademan) Stine. She was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School and later attended Lackawanna Junior College. She began working in Washington D.C. for the FBI for several years before returning to the area. She then worked for Daystrom Electronics in Archbald. After becoming a homemaker and raising her family, Jean then worked at Woodloch, Julia Ribaudo, Turkey Hill and retired from Walmart in 2005. Jean enjoyed playing cards with her friends and working on crossword puzzles. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Jennifer Nichols and husband, Kirk Sr. of Honesdale, Jeffrey Sporer and wife Eva of Leesville, LA and David Sporer and wife Amy of Honesdale; her grandchildren, Kirk Nichols Jr. and wife Nancy, Elizabeth MacEntire and husband Scott, their children, William and Jeanie Rose, Katie Jane Nichols and companion Denver Tyler II and their children, Millie and Denver III and Leo Nichols; Also, Joan Sporer, Amy Sporer, John Sporer, Jack Sporer, Edward Sporer, Charlotte Sporer and Hannah Paparella. She was preceded in death by her brothers, William, James, Ronald, and Larry Stine. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Honesdale at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Honesdale. Arrangements by Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale. |
