Born on August 16, 1940 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Wilbur J. and Gertrude Bates Riefler. Haps greatest joy was working on tractors and mowing grass. Although his family sold the dairy farm, he still enjoyed “small farming,” caring for the animals at his home. He also loved ice cream and camping at the pond. He was a member of the International Harvester Collectors Club Chapter 36.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Marion Riefler of Waymart; his Godson, Brandon Miletta and wife Faith of Honesdale; Goddaughters, Katie George and husband Bill of Dallas, PA and Nicole Carlson and Joseph of Honesdale; Deanna Miletta of Rileyville; sister-in-law Grace Schweighofer; brothers-in-law, Eric Coulter and wife Holly and Timothy Coulter and wife Jessica. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 28th at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale at 7 pm. The family will receive friends 4 until the time of service.
