Dolores M. Stegner, 74, of Honesdale, died on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Julia Ribaudo Extended Care Center in Lake Ariel. She was preceded in death by her husband James Stegner on August 7, 2006. The couple married on June 4, 1983. Born on June 17, 1939 in Honesdale, she was the daughter of the late John and Mildred Garrity McConnell. She was a graduate of Honesdale High School and later worked at Johnson City Hospital where she was a secretary. She retired from Wallenpaupack School District where she worked in the cafeteria. Dolores was a faithful member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale and a member and past president of its Altar and Rosary Society. She was a 50 year member and past officer of Court St. Martin #418 Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was also an active member of the Padre Pio Prayer Group and the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel. She is survived by her brother William McConnell of Lake Ariel; an aunt, Dorothy Dudley of Honesdale; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brothers Joseph, Jackie, Gerard, Thomas and James. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 16th at 10 am at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Honesdale. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
