Richard Irving Breidenstein Jr., 58, of Simpson and formerly of Honesdale, died on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. He is survived by his fiancée, Rosemarie Walsh. Born on July 9, 1962 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Richard Sr. and Darlene (Cook) Breidenstein. Richard was recently employed at the Moon Tavern in Dickson City as a prep cook. He also worked security at First Alert in Wilkes-Barre. A proud fire fighter, he was a member of Honesdale Protection Engine #3 for the past 17 years. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. Also surviving are his sons Walter of Prospect, PA and Bradley and wife Heather of Carbondale; daughters Misty McCall of Simpson and Emily Cost of Scranton; step-daughter Melissa Miller and husband Charles of Carbondale; sister-in-law Kimberly Breidenstein of Avoca; 16 grandchildren, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother Samuel Breidenstein. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of his family.
