Sharon Lee Guinther, 71, of Tanglewood, died on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. She is survived by her husband Thomas J. Guinther Sr.. The couple married on May 12, 1990. Born on March 16, 1947 in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Russell W. and Ruth Miller Case. Sharon began working for Northwest Airlines as a reservation clerk in Washington D.C.. She later was a secretary for the Wayne County Sheriffs Office and Dr. Hahn in Honesdale before retiring. She enjoyed participating in the baking ministry for the Good News Cafe in Hawley, baking over 800 desserts since 2009. Sharon was faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church in Hawley. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Wesley Case and wife Missy of Ashland, OH; her sisters Robin Case Mitschele of Hidden Lake Estates and Melody Case-Rotundo and husband Joe of Beach Lake; grandchildren Brandon, Danielle and Nicole; great-grandchildren Adalynn, Avery, and Emmett and honorary great-grandchild Haven; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Monta Jean Gregory; her brothers-in-law Charles W. Gregory and Herbert J. Mitschele III and great nephew Caleb J. Regenski. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 6th at the First Presbyterian Church in Hawley at 12:30. Interment will follow in Indian Orchard Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, 4 to 7 in the church. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.
