Barbara Joan Ciraolo, beloved wife and mother, passed December 11, 2014 at age 78. Barbara’s physical presence will be missed but her person will always be with us; with the love, enthusiasm and hospitality she expressed to “all”. A courageous and generous woman who will always be with us. “Mother-earth” that she cultivated with such care will also miss her presence, but she will always be there. Barbara is survived by her husband, Angelo J. Ciraolo, 4 children and 10 grandchildren. Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1935, she worked in the legal profession and relocated to Honesdale in 1970, raised her family and managed the family business. At this time, she helped to establish the Wayne Memorial Coalition to bring physicians into the Honesdale Area. On her journey, she developed a love for agriculture and was an avid gardener. BJ’s Herb, Vegetable and Flower Garden became her work focus. Barbara enjoyed the farm and the people in her community. Barbara’s passion for the arts led her to become accomplished in the culinary arts, a skilled needle worker, dressmaker and fine artist. Her love for music throughout her entire life led her to become a member of the St. John’s Choir. A public mass, given by Rev Gregory Reichlin, will be held December 29, 2014 at 10:00am at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 150 Terrace Street, Honesdale, PA 18431. In leui of flowers, please forward donations to St. Jude’s Children Hospital. |
