Marlene Pellew Schoonmaker

Marlene Pellew, 68, of Honesdale, died on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Wayne Woodlands Manor in Waymart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Pellew on May 19, 2008. The couple married on July 23, 1979.

Born on April 3, 1948 in Middletown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Helen Allen Schoonmaker.

Marlene was employed for 15 years at Weis Market in Honesdale as an office manager before retiring in 2014. She enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving is her son Matthew Pellew and fiancée Vicki Ward of Honesdale; her daughters Veronica Veign and husband Gary of Goshen, NY, Lisa Fox of Otisville, NY, Jamie Pellew of Honesdale, and Sheila Ciufo and husband Patrick of Mahoopany, PA; her brother John Schoonmaker and wife Bonnie of Mercer, PA; grandchildren Julia, Lucas, Abigail, Sebastian, Gabriella, and Phoebe Ciufo.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 22nd at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale at 11am. The family will receive friends on Friday, 10 until service time.
