William Otto Roy, Sr., 65, of Hawley, died on March 6, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, the former Linda Ludwig. The couple married on May 26, 2009. Born on March 29, 1958 in Englewood, NJ, he was the son of the late William Claude and Betty Anna (Hill) Roy. Bill was a US Army veteran who served in Vietnam. He was a truck driver who was currently employed by Jed Trucking. He considered himself as a “Frozen food relocation Engineer”. He was well known and respected for his knowledge and experience driving trucks. He was a member of Local Union 863. Bill was well known to his friends as being a character. He loved the wildlife and lived a wild life. He loved riding motorcycles and was especially proud of his 1958 Harley-Davidson Panhead. He enjoyed tinkering around “The Roy Ranch” and watching the wildlife. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Port Jervis, NY. Ordained as The Reverand Bill Roy of the Universal Life Church in 2008. Bill will be remembered as a Budweiser connoiseur and a great friend to many. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, William Otto Roy, Jr. of NC and Joseph Peter Roy of NY; Stepsons, Daniel Chapola, Honesdale and Luke Chapola, NC and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherri Lee Roy and his granddaughter, Ashley Roy. |
