(Cooper) Mahon, 89, of Honesdale, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center in Honesdale. She was born in Haskell, NJ on June 17, 1929, the daughter of the late Charles Cooper and Eva Leggett. Wilma was an operator for the New Jersey Bell and retired after many years. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Walter Mahon. Her sons, Walter Mahon and wife Debra, Robert Mahon and longtime companion Debra White, and Gary Mahon and wife Nancy; grandchildren, Robert Mahon and wife Kris, Amy Mahon, Shannon Sommerville and wife Annette and Desiree Sommerville Granese and husband Jason and ten great grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister Frieda Stevens and her brother John Ricker. She was preceded in death by her sisters Dorothy (Cooper) Fletcher, Alice (Cooper) Garbarino, Violet (Cooper) Anderson and Ann McBride. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 18th at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale at noon. The family will receive friends Saturday, 10 until the time of service.
