William Harold (Bill) Hoerter, Jr., passed away peacefully at the home of his son on January20, 2022.

Born on February 7, 1927, Bill was a wartime veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during World War II. After his service to our nation, Bill was a beloved husband, father, businessman, and devout parishioner at Grace Church, Honesdale, PA.  Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William H. Hoerter and Katherine D. Hoerter (nee Heffernan), and his wonderful wife and partner of 62 years, Jean L. Hoerter (nee Jaegg) (D. July 11, 2011).

Jean and Bill were blessed with four sons:  William H. (Bill) Hoerter, III, Robert L. (Bob) Hoerter (Carolyn), Jeffrey A. (Jeff) Hoerter (Linda), and mom’s favorite, Scott J. Hoerter (Patricia).  In addition to his four sons, Bill is survived by his loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews: Grand Children Robert L, Jr., Michael K., Jennifer, and Pamela, Michael, Kristina, Christopher, Gregory, and Brian.  Great Grand Children Angela, Brandon, Matthew, Jose, Jr., Robert L. III, Ariana, Nicholas, Jonathan, Gabriella, Jessenia, and Roberto.  Great Great Grandchildren Lucianna, Kenneth, Logan, and Lorenzo.

There will be a Memorial Service in celebration of Bill’s life on January 29, 2022, at Grace Episcopal Church located at 827 Church Street, Honesdale, PA, 18431, following the 10:30 a.m. service. Due to restrictions imposed by the pandemic, the family has determined that there will be no visitation at the funeral home.
