William Henry “Hank” McKay III died peacefully Friday, January 13, 2023.
He was 75 years old and spent his entire life valiantly battling cerebral palsy.
He was born at Poughkeepsie, NY and was the first son of William H. McKay Jr. and Lucy McMahon McKay. He is survived by brothers John McKay of Mast Hope Village, PA and Richard McKay of Chevy Chase, MD and their wives He will be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.
Hank retired to his country home at Mast Hope, after a distinguished career at the Department of the Treasury, Washington DC Hank was at the forefront of advocating for the worth and rights of persons with disabilities..
An avid conversationalist, he was a keen observer of politics and loved rock and roll and Corvettes. Hank will be interred at Calvary Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY and a celebration of his life will be held with relatives and friends later this year at his home at Mast Hope, PA.
Rest brother, you needn’t struggle any more.
