William B. Birmingham, 85, of Honesdale, died on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Regional Hospital in Scranton. He is survived by his wife, the former Doris M. Crockenberg. The couple married on November 4, 1950 in St. Mary Magdalen Church in Honesdale.

Born on July 24, 1929 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late William and Antoinette Hessling Birmingham. He was a graduate of Honesdale High School, class of 1947. He later served in the US Army during the Korean War.

He retired from Agway with over 40 years of service. Following his retirement, Bill enjoyed spending time working with his grandson Jamie at his woodworking shop.

Also surviving are his sons Gary and wife Ranae of Rileyville, Glen and wife Mary of Avondale, PA and Greg of Honesdale; his daughter Gail Booths and husband James of Lake Ariel; his sister Elizabeth Gallik and husband John; grandchildren Matthew, Michael, Adam and Anna Birmingham, Brian Cottell and Jamie Cottell and wife Laura; great grandchildren Mackenzie, Brooklynne, Kali, Olivia and Evan Cottell; many nieces and nephews.

A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the convenience of his family. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. John the Evangelist Parish, 416 Church St. Honesdale, PA 18431.
